5 Years and Counting!
Well, 2011 is coming to a close and here I am again trying to put our adventures into a summary.
This year brought about established traditions and some wonderful new surprises!
As we look back on 2011, some highlights come to mind.
Club members drove to Kansas City to attend a Jimmy Buffett concert.
For some, it was the first time they saw Bubba! How exciting and it was a helluva tailgate party!
Once again we phloated the Illinois for our 4th annual MOKSAROK phloat trip!
Whew! that was a scary one for me - darn snake!
Kansas weather presented a stormy evening for the bar-b-que with our MDA children!
But hey, this is Kansas and we are tornado tough here!
This summer will bring our 3rd successful, rewarding year spending time with these wonderful children.
We worked the inferno that was Riverfest to raise some bucks for charity!
The highlight of this event was the pool party hosted by Linda and Ken Ratlief.
Thanks for the tasty burgers and the lovely evening!
We braved the winds and waves at Cheney!
Pholks still talk about what phun the pirates had.
I believe we plan to repeat this adventure in 2012!
Thanks Devin and Jim for organizing this!
We worked the Wichita Beerfest for the Children's Miracle Network then socialized at Mosley Street Melodrama for PHOCK's birthday.
Finally, our Pargarita Evening with Pam and Duane Winter.
We always laugh so hard at the dirty Santa exchange!
Great food, cold beverages and even better phriends!
Members brought gifts for our adopted phamily to Pargarita.
Stop and pause with me for a moment and consider how we touched 4 lives this Christmas morning!
Get a bit of a warm glow...you should this is what being a Parrothead is all about!
Looking back this year was a phun and wonderful voyage.
It seemed to go by quickly, and there were things we just didn't get around to doing, but reviewing the summary above - seems like a lot of phun and good work!
Next year will bring the 5th birthday of PHOCK!
WOW! When Jim, Tina, Scott and I sit down at the first meeting, we never would have guessed we could make it this far and meet such wonderful pholks!
